My 25 year old girlfriend recently had a bout of hyperglycemia which she treated herself and was finally able to resolve. The problem is that her university has advised her that if she was sick enough to miss school, she was sick enough to need to visit a doctor and will not consider her absence justified. Does the Americans with Disabilities Act pertain to this situation?
